A new date for the diary; this one's a way off yet - the 4th-5th of April to be exact - but seasoned Trekkers out there will naturally recognize that weekend as the one where Zefram Cochrane made (um...will make) first contact with the Vulcans in the movie Star Trek: First Contact.
First Contact Day 2015 is a fan-run convention being held at the National Space Centre in Leicester, and I'm going to be there along with my fellow author and Star Trek: The Fall co-writer Una McCormack. Actors Garret Wang (from Star Trek Voyager) and Claudia Christian (from Babylon 5) will also be appearing. There will be guest talks, Q&A's, photo shoots, signings as well as a special "dinner with the stars" - as long as I can be pried away from the NSC's cool exhibits first...
