First Contact Day 2015 next weekend!

We're less than a week away from First Contact Day 2015, a fan-run Star Trek event taking place at the National Space Centre in Leicester - aptly scheduled over the 4th and 5th of April, which of course is the weekend when Zefram Cochrane makes first contact with the Vulcans in the movie Star Trek: First Contact (48 years hence, I should add).

Along with me and my fellow Star Trek author Una McCormack, we'll be joined by actors Garret Wang (from Star Trek Voyager), Claudia Christian (from Babylon 5), Alan Flyng (Star Wars) and via subspace radio Skype, Trek expert Larry Nemecek (author of The ST:TNG Companion).

There will be guest talks, Q&A's, photo shoots, signings as well as a special "dinner with the stars".

Star Trek: Titan - Sight Unseen

My next Star Trek novel will be my third aventure with the crew of the U.S.S. Titan, in a all-new story called Sight Unseen; Pocket Books have just released the official blurb, which you can read below this ace screenshot from Tobias Richter's amazing Titan CGI animation...

usstitan[small]

In the wake of political upheaval across the United Federation of Planets, Admiral William Riker and the crew of the U.S.S. Titan find themselves in uncertain waters as roles aboard the ship change to reflect a new mandate and a new mission. On orders from Starfleet, Titan sets out toward the edge of Federation space to tackle its latest assignment: to work with an alien species known as the Dinac, who are taking their first steps into the galaxy at large as a newly warp-capable civilization.

But when disaster befalls the Dinac, the Titan crew discovers they have unknowingly drawn the attention of a deadly, merciless enemy—a nightmare from Riker’s past lurking in the darkness. Friendships will be tested to the limit as familiar faces and new allies must risk everything in a fight against an unstoppable invader—or a horrific threat will be unleashed on the galaxy!

Star Trek: Titan - Sight Unseen will be available from all good bookstores from September 29th.

The Horus Heresy: Ashes of Fealty - Available Now!

Folks who came along to The Horus Heresy Weekender event last week were treated to some advance releases from Black Library, one of which was Knight Errant, a collected box set edition of all the Horus Heresy Nathaniel Garro audio dramas released to date, along Ashes of Fealty, a brand-new original Garro story that ties into events from the end of my novel The Flight of the Eisenstein.

audio-garro-ashes-of-fealtyThe rest of the world will be able to pick up the box set in April - and very nice it is too, if I do say so myself - but if digital is your thing and you can't wait a few weeks to hear the newest story in Nathaniel's saga, you can head over to Black Library by clicking Here to hear an excerpt from the story and download a copy of Ashes of Fealty right away; in this two-hander, the ever-awesome Toby Longworth reprises his role as Garro, and is joined by Jonathan Keeble as Meric Voyen, the former Death Guard apothecary who joined Garro in his rebellion aboard the Eisenstein.

The Horus Heresy Weekender UPDATED!

So the folks at ForgeWorld have taken on the running of The Horus Heresy Weekender event this month, and as well as doing lots of things involving dice-rolling, small spikey soldiers guys and giant expensive models, there will also be a Black Library presence over this weekend at the regular haunt of the Belfry Hotel in Nottingham.

HHWeekenderlogofw

I'll be there, along with fellow heretical authors Graham McNeill, John French, Chris Wraight, Guy Haley and Nick Kyme, and we will be signing stuff, talking about new Horus Heresy projects and (I believe) debuting some new early releases for attendees.

You can check out the full program Here.

UPDATE!

Black Library will be releasing two new advance exclusives from me at the event - the hardcover collector's edition of my Horus Heresy novel Fear To Tread, featuring new artwork and an author afterword, and Knight Errant, a slipcased box set collection of all my Nathaniel Garro audio dramas (Oath of Moment, Legion of One, Burden of Duty, Sword of Truth and Shield of Lies) and the all-new story Ashes of Fealty.
