This Saturday - June 29th - is the anniversary of Games Workshop's store in the Plaza, on Oxford Street in London.
The store is hosting a bunch of mini-games, a Blood Angels painting competition, a signing by me and most importantly, cake.
The event runs from 10.00am through to 6.00pm, and I'll be around from 1.00pm for signing my Warhammer 40,000 and Horus Heresy fiction, chatting and cake, if there's any left by then...
The store is at Unit F10, The Plaza, 116/128 Oxford Street, W1D 1LT London.
For more information about the event, check out the store's Facebook page Here.
As any gamers who haven’t been living on the far side of the Moon will
know, the E3 expo has been taking place in Los Angeles this week, and
among the big news of launches of the new Next Gen consoles, there’s
also been stuff about a couple of games I worked on.
Deus Ex: The Fall, a new mobile/tablet title for iOS and Android is coming this Summer, and it features characters from (and is a sequel to) my Deus Ex tie-in novel Icarus Effect. Here’s the latest trailer showing story and gameplay elements...
Along with the official announcement of DXTF, developers Eidos Montreal have also revealed that the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut
– previously only announced for release on the Wii U console – will now
also be released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC and Mac platforms.
The Director’s Cut edition of DXHR is
an uprated, refined version of the original game with a whole bunch of
additional material and under-the-hood tweaks. The DLC extra missions “Tong’s Rescue” and The Missing Link
are now included as part of the core narrative; the boss fights have
been overhauled and re-pathed with multiple avenues for solution, game
balance and combat have been refined along with improved AI and visual
fidelity, and last but not least, the Director’s Cut includes over 8
hours of developer commentary. There’s ‘second screen’ functionality for
the Wii U with it’s handheld controller tablet, and that will also be
available for the Xbox 360 version via the Smartglass app and on the
Playstation Vita for the PS3 version. The Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut hits later this year.
For more information, check out this E3 interview with Gamespot, which shows off gameplay from both games.
On sale next month is my new Doctor Who audio drama story, Shockwave - it's episode seven in the ongoing Destiny of the Doctor miniseries
produced by Big Finish Productions and AudioGo as part of their
contributions to the Doctor's 50th Anniversary celebrations.
Shockwave features
the characters of the 7th Doctor and Ace in a sci-fi disaster movie set
aboard a starship racing to escape the death of a collapsing star; the
story is narrated by Sophie Aldred and co-stars Ian Brooker.
In
the far future, the inhabitants of Tarsus Six face a desperate struggle
to evacuate their world before their sun, Tarsus Ultra, collapses into a
cataclysmic spatial anomaly. When the Doctor navigates the
TARDIS to a space station orbiting Tarsus Six, Ace assumes that he
intends offer their assistance. But it soon becomes clear that the
Doctor has an agenda of his own.
With the TARDIS
immobilised, Ace realises that their own lives are as much in danger as
those of the fleeing inhabitants. The race is on to escape the
destruction of Tarsus Six and the devastating shockwave that will
follow, reaching out and destroying everything in its wake.
Doctor Who: Destiny of the Doctor - Shockwave is now up for pre-order over at the Big Finish site, and it will be available in CD and digital form direct from release.

One of the top secret things I've been working on over the past few
months has now been officially announced, so I can talk about my
involvement with Deus Ex: The Fall, a new videogame for tablet and mobile devices.
Set in 2027, in the same world as Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Fall is an action-RPG and features characters and situations from my tie-in novel Deus Ex: Icarus Effect.
The plotline of the mobile game carries on directly after the events of
the book, with players taking on the role of former Belltower mercenary
and ex-SAS soldier Ben Saxon. In The Fall, Saxon is
pulled into conflict with the members of his former team, the Tyrants - a
ruthless group of augmented assassins - as he uncovers a conspiracy
behind the production of an anti-rejection drug vital to those who have
cybernetic augmentations.
Deus Ex: The Fall will
initially be released for iOS devices this summer, with an Android
platform release soon to follow. For more information, check out the
official Deus Ex website Here.
